Howard University Program
About This Program
Founded in 1936 with continuous accreditation, Howard University's General Surgery Residency is the oldest and largest HBCU surgical program. Housed in the nation's capital and the only hospital on an HBCU campus, we proudly serve the underserved and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion. Rooted in a legacy since the 1860s, we train future surgical leaders dedicated to advancing representation and the mission of Howard University.
